About the Role

In this contingent resource assignment, the Lead Software Engineer will consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering. The role involves reviewing and analyzing multifaceted, large-scale or long-term software engineering challenges, contributing to resolution of complex situations, and collaborating strategically with client personnel. The position supports the development and maintenance of a robust platform for Investment Banking Debt Market Research within the SPECTRA Technology team, with a focus on modernization, security, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain a robust platform supporting various functions of the end-to-end lifecycle for Investment Banking Debt Market Research - SPECTRA Technology team.
  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those with companywide impact.
  • Develop standards and best practices for engineering large-scale technology solutions.
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document projects and programs.
  • Develop and enhance critical components of the deal processing platform using modern, scalable technologies.
  • Drive the implementation of strategic platform modernization, including cloud migration and microservices adaptation.
  • Ensure platform reliability, security, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with support teams to handle production outages effectively within SLAs.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization of the IB suite of applications.
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for business objectives and technical challenges.
  • Develop standard and best practices for engineering and technology solutions, influencing and leading teams.
  • Collaborate with technical experts, senior teams, and external groups to resolve complex issues.
  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor.
  • Work with multiple teams such as Infrastructure, Development, App Support, QA, and DBA to design and implement solutions.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. and are not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • Experience in developing enterprise software solutions.
  • Hands-on experience in Java, J2EE, Microservices, Spring Framework.
  • Experience with Object-Oriented development, design patterns, and optimized search algorithms.
  • Experience with build and deployment tools (Team Build, Jenkins, Udeploy, Harness).
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills for resolving complex technical issues.
  • Ability to assimilate new information, understand complex topics, and design robust solutions.
  • Experience in the Financial sector, preferably Investment banking (preferred).
  • Experience with GitHub Copilot or similar GenAI tools (preferred).
  • Experience with SQL databases (preferred).
