Lead Developers act as the primary point of contact for our clients, ensuring that teams are successful in their delivery. In this role, you will bring a strategic mindset to projects and spend time collaborating and negotiating with clients to bring a technical vision to life. Having a balance of high-level and tactical mindsets is a must, as you will spend time both with clients and your teammates. Lead Developers guide and coach their teams in their implementation and application.

Key Responsibilities

You will champion and adopt best practices like writing clean and reusable code using TDD, pair programming and design patterns.
Experience with Backstage - Clear and good communication since you're talking with external customers.
Write plugins in Typescript and contribute to Backstage platform development.
Understand how containers are deployed to various cloud providers.
Support tickets that sometimes cross boundaries and knowing the basics helps, such as modifying RDS parameter groups.
Able to debug and troubleshoot issues with limited information available.
Have knowledge of Kubernetes pod lifecycle, pod configuration, and ingress/egress, to assist with troubleshooting tickets.
Focus on client/customer meetings with less emphasis on coding.

Requirements

Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Backstage.
Proficiency in TypeScript for working with Backstage plugins.
Understanding of Kubernetes pod lifecycle, configuration, ingress/egress.
Familiarity with container deployment across cloud providers.
Ability to debug issues with limited information.
Clear and effective communication skills with external customers.
Experience influencing others and advocating for technical excellence.
Ability to translate business needs into software requirements.
Capability to develop and execute a technical vision focused on business value.
Mentorship skills to inspire and guide less experienced peers.
Resilience in ambiguous situations and ability to approach challenges from multiple perspectives.

Nice to Have

Experience with cloud deployment and container orchestration.
Previous experience in a client-facing or consultancy role.
Knowledge of design patterns and best practices in software engineering.

Qualifications

Professional experience with Backstage and TypeScript.
Understanding of Kubernetes and cloud deployment practices.
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
