Key Responsibilities

  • Develop code and systems impacting 40% of the global population while influencing Visa internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability.
  • Collaborate across teams to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for various Visa technical offerings.
  • Drive product quality improvements, enhance service technology, and innovate business flows within diverse agile teams.
  • Create robust, scalable products for a wide range of customers, including end-user merchants, B2B, and business-to-government solutions.
  • Utilize cutting-edge technologies to build next-generation Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Analytics, and others contributing to company growth.
  • Align enhancements and modifications to existing software coding standards and design specifications across regions, ensuring compliance with current security standards.
  • Guide the implementation of automation to improve effectiveness and efficiencies of systems and tools across regions.
  • Maintain communication with regional leadership to monitor and direct code reviews, on-call rotations, and incident responses throughout product development and operations cycles.
  • Leverage back-end technical expertise to lead systematic improvements in processes to meet customer and business objectives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 7 years with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years with a PhD, or 13+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more general development languages such as C#, JavaScript, C++, Java, or Python.
  • Experience building and deploying modern services and web applications with quality and scalability.
  • Ability to select the best available values of some objective function to improve the functional effectiveness of web applications.
  • Knowledge of and ability to develop code in programming languages supporting product development.
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining Application Program Interfaces (APIs).
  • This is an onsite hybrid position based in Bellevue, WA, with an expectation of days in office to be confirmed by the hiring manager.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with technologies such as React, Kubernetes, Docker.
  • Experience collaborating with Product, Test, Dev-ops, and Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Comfort in pushing the boundaries and 'hacking' beyond traditional solutions.
  • Growth mindset with curiosity and passion for technology.
  • Experience in payments technology or web applications is not required but beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree, Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or PhD with corresponding years of work experience.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C#, C++, JavaScript, Java.
  • Experience in web browser optimization and API design and development.
