The company is seeking a Long Haul Deployment Project Manager to manage turnkey construction contracts, ensure projects stay on time and budget, and maintain effective stakeholder communication. The role reports to the Long Haul Deployment Senior Manager and is open to candidates residing in AZ/NV/UT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate OSP construction contracts, collaborating with legal teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and legal standards.
  • Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with contractual obligations throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Evaluate and process change orders, assessing impacts on project budget, schedule, and scope.
  • Facilitate effective communication between project stakeholders, legal teams, and contractors to address contractual issues and resolve disputes.
  • Evaluate project status against the contract schedule, issue contract notices, and monitor recovery plans.
  • Work closely with contractors to ensure project progress aligns with schedule expectations, actively managing schedules and production forecasts.
  • Manage complex regulatory and permitting issues such as NEPA, CPUC, Tribal Lands, etc.
  • Plan and manage project major materials including planning, ordering, receiving, and dispersal.
  • Provide project-level and executive reporting, including regular updates to key customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all contract-related documents, correspondence, and changes.
  • Manage budgets and spend forecasts, proactively mitigating risks to stay within budget.
  • Deliver project as-builts to support teams in a timely manner to ensure route protection and inventory system updates.
  • Evaluate project invoicing against progress metrics, identify discrepancies, and resolve anomalies.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to construction standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, preferably in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years in the telecommunications industry with outside plant, fiber optics, telecommunication architectures, optical transport equipment, and project management experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of contract and capital management experience, preferably with long haul OSP or large project construction.
  • Familiarity with outside plant construction methods and best practices.
  • Working knowledge of OSP construction standards, fiber specifications, and optical network design principles.
  • Understanding of different contract types and payment terms (unit rate, fixed, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
  • Experience managing large capital projects, including writing purchase requisitions and reconciling invoices.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical topics clearly with internal and external customers.
  • Proficient with Email, MS Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), G Suite (Sheets, Slides, etc.), and Google Earth.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with NTIA program requirements such as Davis-Bacon, BABA, and EA is a plus.
  • Experience with Site Tracker or other project management software is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
