Machine Learning & Applied Science Senior Principal Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of applied scientists and ML engineers to deliver AI-based solutions.
• Identify and prioritize AI/ML solutions with significant business values.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure AI solutions align with business strategy and goals.
• Conduct research and implement new methods to improve AI capabilities.
• Communicate research findings and results to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Develop end-to-end machine learning systems including data analysis, data preparation, model development, training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Develop evaluation frameworks and carry out evaluations of machine learning models.
• Build ML pipelines with continuous training, validation, and automated model deployment as a service.
• Support customer-facing experiences, sales, and marketing programs through machine learning initiatives.
• Design and analyze controlled experiments and drive productization to deliver business and customer value.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a quantitative field such as Statistics or Mathematics.
• 10 years of experience in software development using programming languages like Python, Java, R, or C++.
• 3 years of experience managing data scientists and/or machine learning engineers.
• 5 years of experience developing machine learning systems, including data preparation, model training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Experience with automating continuous training and delivery of machine learning models.
• Expert knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques.
• Experience building large-scale machine learning and AI models for applications such as recommendation, optimization, personalization, or search.
• Experience with large-scale data processing and scalable system development from big data.
• Ability to leverage data insights to influence stakeholders and communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong communication and presentation skills (oral and written).

Nice to Have

• Experience with automating continuous training and delivery of machine learning models.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 10 years of software development experience.
• At least 3 years of managing data scientists or ML engineers.
• At least 5 years of experience in developing machine learning systems.
