About the Role

The role involves overseeing process and product qualification for start-up and transition into production, leading a team responsible for ensuring process ramp goals related to Wattage, Quality, Reliability, Yield, and Throughput are met, and managing engineering and manufacturing teams to implement new processes and improvements in a high-tech manufacturing environment, such as photovoltaic industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight of process and product qualification for start-up and transition into production.
  • Lead a team responsible for ensuring process ramp demonstrates defined goals for Wattage, Quality, Reliability, Yield, and Throughput.
  • Manage and train a group of engineers and manufacturing team on new process introduction, implementation, and documentation.
  • Lead daily performance monitoring of Wattage and Cascade Yield of the factory per the manufacturing plan.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to be best in class among factories, including establishing structured systems for monitoring and detection.
  • Assess process health impacting product characteristics and lead problem solving using six sigma methodologies.
  • Identify variation reduction opportunities and implement solutions.
  • Align factory performance with global standards and forecast supply of bins and wattage with supply and demand teams.
  • Provide leadership, training, and coaching to personnel on all aspects of Integration processes.
  • Document requirements of new technology processes, including control plans, work instructions, OCAP, FMEA.
  • Maintain effective communication with development engineering, NPI, Quality, Reliability, MES, and operations for successful qualification and implementation of new processes.
  • Lead factory startup qualification of process and product according to plan.
  • Supervise and review performance of manufacturing engineers and technicians quarterly.
  • Interface with company, customer, and supplier representatives.
  • Evaluate new equipment proposals according to process standards.
  • Review process experiment proposals and results, determine next steps.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures and process descriptions.
  • Implement corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvement activities using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.
  • Remove roadblocks to team success and foster team building.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline or Physical Science Field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5 or more years' experience in an engineering leadership role.
  • 5 to 8 years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably high-tech such as semiconductor or photovoltaic industries.
  • Proven experience in project planning and controls.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects under tight schedules.
  • Experience leading multimillion dollar projects in domestic and foreign factory settings.
  • Leadership skills and project management performance.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering techniques, and practices.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 standards and SPC tools.
  • Proficiency in engineering/design of experiments, Six Sigma, DMAIC, and FMEA.
  • Strong quality skills and technical problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent data analysis and collection skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite and statistical software.
  • Understanding of material analysis and characterization methods.

  • Experience with high-tech manufacturing environments such as semiconductor or photovoltaic industries.
  • Experience managing projects in both domestic and international settings.
  • Advanced degrees (Master's or higher).

  • Estimated salary range of $127,700 - $182,000.
  • Hybrid physical requirements including sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 27 pounds, and wearing personal protective equipment.
