About the Role

The Marketing Communications Facilitator will work with the Director of Communications to oversee, develop, and implement strategies that enhance the school district's public image. The role involves managing internal and external communication efforts, media relations, content creation, and multimedia production to support the district's communication goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Communications in executing the marketing and communications plan for the school district - both internally and externally. Produce and coordinate messaging for web, print, and other marketing material.
  • Execute assignments as public relations and/or media relations liaison, including establishing relationships with local media and community members, pitching stories, and monitoring media coverage for reporting.
  • Create content for website and other district communication platforms, including providing relevant content for each school's website, maintaining website content throughout the year, and posting consistently on district social media platforms.
  • Create relevant multimedia content for each school and district website and social media platforms, including shooting and editing videos, and sharing photos taken across the district.
  • Ensure all communications are accurate, clear, and complete by editing, proofreading, and fact-checking all materials, maintaining proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, editorial style, tone, and voice.
  • Maintain well-rounded business, communication, and administrative skills, especially in the absence of the Director of Communications, and communicate effectively with media during crises.
  • Familiarize oneself with Board of Education policies, district and school guidelines, and adhere to them.
  • Perform other duties as designed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, and/or journalism preferred.
  • Three years experience in marketing, public relations, and/or journalism.
  • Ability to interact coherently with the media and community.
  • Ability to multitask on various projects.
  • Strong written, verbal, and digital communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing, public relations, or journalism.
  • Ability to shoot and edit videos using district-provided equipment and tools like iMovie.
  • Familiarity with district policies, guidelines, and regulations.

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary Range: Range 2 - Support Staff/Administrative/Professional/Technician/Supervisory Salary Schedule ($193.70/day - $309.82/day based on relevant experience).
  • Length of Contract: 200 contract days.
  • FLSA Status: Exempt.
  • Personnel Status: Classified.
  • Benefits Eligible: Yes.
