About the Role

The MicroFocus COBOL Developer will support the development, troubleshooting, modification, and enhancement of business applications within the SCDMV environment. This role involves working with multi-tiered architecture utilizing Micro Focus Visual COBOL, IIS, MS .NET, and databases such as Oracle and SQL Server. The developer will collaborate closely with business area specialists, develop technical approaches, and provide production support, all with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze the SCDMV Phoenix II, web service, and batch business applications.
Take the lead in analyzing and troubleshooting assigned system problems.
Propose solutions to identified issues.
Code, test, promote, and interact with impacted users to ensure solutions meet requirements.
Provide daily and weekly status updates to the development manager.

Requirements

Development experience with MicroFocus Visual COBOL in Windows Server 2019/2022, including batch processing and IIS.
Experience using Visual Studio 2019/2022 and debugging tools.
Application programming against RDBMS such as Oracle and SQL Server.
Ability to write complex SQL queries for Oracle and MS SQL databases.
Experience with IIS configuration and setup.
Proficiency in Microsoft C# .NET.
Bachelor's degree in an information technology related discipline with 8 years of experience or a minimum of 10 years related experience.
MicroFocus certifications are a significant advantage; MS technical certifications will be considered.
