PHP/Drupal Developer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and administer the agency's Drupal website and WordPress blogs
• Plan, develop, and maintain web and browser applications to support Library programs and operations
• Train team members in Drupal development and website management best practices
• Participate in and provide information in cross-agency workgroups in the implementation of standard web page templates and enterprise usage of web applications including Drupal, WordPress and in-house applications
• Attend work regularly in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies
• Comply with all applicable agency policies and procedures, including safety and standards of conduct
• Perform other duties, as assigned
• Provide weekly progress reports of work completed and current priorities
• Respond timely to incidents and requests and resolve them
• Maintain up-to-date system and network documentation
• Provide status updates on risks, challenges, and upcoming maintenance activities
• Complete required IT Security training and provide certificate of completion
• Support scheduled maintenance or urgent incidents, including occasional after-hours support

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency
• A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in using HTML and CSS according to current web standards
• Experience in design and development of MySQL databases
• Experience using jQuery for web application front-end development
• Proficiency in PHP programming within the LAMP or LEMP stack to develop and maintain applications
• Experience in designing, developing, and administering enterprise websites, tools, workflows, custom themes, and modules using a CMS within a LAMP or LEMP stack, including Drupal and WordPress administration and management
• Experience in developing within web frameworks and extensions such as Laravel, Django, Symfony, etc.

Nice to Have

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in computer science, information systems, or related fields
• Experience implementing and managing information retrieval systems like Drupal Search or Solr
• Experience with Drupal administration tools such as Drush
• Building responsive websites
• Using AJAX techniques for asynchronous web applications
• Experience with Python programming within LAMP or LEMP stacks
• Proficient knowledge of JavaScript, Ruby, and Java
• Knowledge of cross-site scripting and SQL injection security issues
• Experience with ticketing systems such as Remedy or KACE
• Recent industry certifications related to programming or web development

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in relevant web development and administration areas
