About the Role

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Planning and Scheduling Software Engineer at an early to mid-career level. The role involves designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining object-oriented ground system planning and scheduling software applications. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, and maintain object-oriented ground system planning and scheduling software applications using Java, C#, Angular, Python
  • Support modernization efforts aimed at achieving greater efficiency, security, automation, and scalability
  • Collaborate with a team of software, systems, and test engineers using Agile Development methodology

Requirements

  • Experience with one or more of the following: Java, C#, Angular, Python
  • Strong software development and engineering background with a successful project delivery track record
  • Experience developing satellite ground subsystems or other ground subsystems
  • Demonstrated expertise in Scaled Agile development methodologies and effective communication skills
  • Current Top Secret security clearance prior to start and ability to obtain SCI clearance

Nice to Have

  • Designing and implementing software solutions using Java, C#, Python
  • Cloud/containerization experience with understanding of distributed systems and scalability
  • Experience developing microservices
  • Proficiency with Git for version control and collaboration
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps pipelines
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies related to the Scaled Agile Framework
  • Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and regression testing
  • Strong problem-solving skills in software engineering
  • Experience delivering highly reliable communications or ground subsystems
  • Experience with the Compass planning application

Qualifications

  • BS degree or above in a related field, or 3+ years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree
  • 5+ years of professional experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain SCI clearance if not already held
