Principal Engineer- Cloud

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the strategy, roadmap, and execution plan for the Unified Software & Infrastructure Automation Platform in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Ensure alignment and coordination across the delivery of core platform capabilities, including declarative infrastructure definitions and automation frameworks, abstraction and portability layers supporting hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Implement reusable, policy-compliant components that support application assembly.
• Integrate compliance automation across the development and deployment lifecycle.
• Orchestrate use of tools and self-service capabilities enhancing developer productivity and operational consistency.
• Collaborate with technology risk, security, and audit teams to integrate robust compliance capabilities throughout the SDLC.
• Promote automation of asset management and change validation processes in accordance with ITIL standards.
• Lead through influence across contributing teams—driving alignment, identifying and resolving blockers, and achieving milestones.
• Advocate for intuitive and efficient user experiences for developers, product owners, and platform consumers.
• Communicate program vision, value, and progress effectively to senior technology leadership and across contributing towers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
• 7+ years of strong understanding of cloud, DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and SDLC best practices.
• 7+ years of proven success in driving delivery across cross-functional teams within a large, matrixed organization.
• 5+ years of experience with ITIL processes and embedding governance in automation pipelines.

Nice to Have

• Experience in financial services or similarly regulated environments.
• Familiarity with tools such as GitHub, Jira, Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD orchestration platforms.
• Exposure to platform product management and developer portal experiences.
• Demonstrated experience integrating risk and compliance into platform or product strategies.
