Verizon Business Digital seeks a Principal Engineer - Software Development to spearhead the design and development of critical projects, focusing on digital experience improvement, platform modernization, AI integration, and customer journey enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop critical digital projects to improve customer experience through friction removal and optimization.
  • Implement prompt-based and conversational buying/self-service flows.
  • Expand real-time offer recommendations across all customer touchpoints.
  • Drive online/mobile traffic with guaranteed best value.
  • Lead a team in platform modernization towards a comprehensive architecture stack including UI/UX, middleware, and backend.
  • Reimagine customer experience by infusing Artificial Intelligence into customer interactions.
  • Architect and develop streamlined app experiences with AI-driven end-to-end customer journeys and personalized recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Digital Experience and Technology teams (onshore & offshore) for technical design and development lifecycle management.
  • Follow Agile methodology to gather stakeholder input, analyze business needs, and support digital project design, development, and testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work, military experience, or specialized training.
  • Experience with Java, J2EE, React, Spring Cloud, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
  • Experience with architecting large-scale enterprise applications.
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Node.JS, Next.JS, Angular, and cross-browser implementations.
  • Experience in Web UI frameworks, usability, page transitions, navigation, image caching, and lazy loading.
  • Experience with implementing AI models into customer experience.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Information Systems, Business Administration or related field.
  • Experience with Large Scale Distributed Systems development.
  • Experience with offshore development teams.
  • Experience with client stakeholder engagement and reporting to senior leadership.
  • IT experience in networking, applications, infrastructure, or database architectures.
  • Experience with cloud and container platform strategies, design, architecture, migration, and AEM.
  • Experience developing applications and API frameworks for large-scale efficiencies.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, data ingestion frameworks like Logstash, and data indexing.
  • Experience in optimizing application performance, load balancing, caching, and monitoring tools.
  • Experience building self-healing and resiliency patterns.
  • Experience leading performance testing, bottleneck analysis, and capacity planning.
  • Knowledge of IT strategic planning and B2B systems trends.
