About the Role

Piper Companies is hiring for a Principal Full Stack Engineer (ON-SITE) for a leading financial institution located in Merrimack, NH. The Principal Full Stack Engineer will assist in the reimaging of company operations through comprehensive migration to cloud-native infrastructure. This is a long-term contract opportunity requiring on-site work in Smithfield, RI two weeks per month.

Key Responsibilities

Create scalable and maintainable applications using Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
Improve standard engineering practices such as code and design reviews, source control strategy, environment strategy, testing automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborate with product owners, peer technologists, and architects to incorporate technical improvements to the platform.
Gain a deep understanding of the business domain and actively participate in technology discussions with partners.

Requirements

7+ years of experience in Java development and Spring/Spring Boot frameworks.
Strong understanding of OOP concepts, collections, and multithreading.
Proficient cloud experience, particularly in AWS services like EKS/ECS, S3, and CloudWatch.
Previous experience with Terraform is preferred; CloudWatch experience is acceptable.
Experience using Kafka.
Familiarity with building pipelines and automated testing.

Nice to Have

Experience with Terraform.
Knowledge of CloudFormation.
Experience with CockroachDB, Cloud APIs, API development, Microservices, Data pipeline, Mainframe migration, End-to-end development, Agile, Source control, Code reviews, Engineering practices, Platform modernization.
