Job Description

About the Role

As a Principal Mulesoft Engineer, you will work with customers and architects to implement MuleSoft's CloudHub or Anypoint platform to solve business challenges. You will participate in the full application life cycle from technical design to development, testing, and deployment using Mulesoft development tools. The role involves collaborating with data & integration team members to grow MuleSoft knowledge within the company and assisting in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving defects during various stages of project delivery, including deployment and production environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate expertise in DataWeave to manipulate and transform data within the integration platform.
  • Utilize design patterns for MuleSoft and webMethods integrations to create efficient and scalable solutions.
  • Work with 3rd Party MuleSoft Anypoint Connectors to integrate various systems and services.
  • Hold an architect role in multiple complex deployments involving MuleSoft, designing and leading successful implementation of sophisticated integration projects.
  • Design and implement integration architectures using both MuleSoft On-Premises and Cloud solutions.
  • Design, develop, and deploy integration flows using Mule Anypoint Studio following best practices and industry standards.
  • Deploy and manage Mule flows to CloudHub ensuring reliable and high-performance integrations.
  • Implement CI/CD practices with MuleSoft for streamlined development and delivery.
  • Troubleshoot complex integration issues promptly and effectively.
  • Identify and resolve problems methodically, tracing their origins to provide solutions.
  • Adhere to development and security best practices to maintain the integrity of solutions.
  • Document APIs using contract languages like RAML and OAS.
  • Apply infrastructure knowledge including servers, load balancers, firewalls, SSL, VPC, VPN, and certificates to design reliable and secure solutions.
  • Design integrations leveraging both MuleSoft and AWS services, including working with AWS SQS, Amazon MQ, and SNS.
  • Coach and mentor less-experienced analysts and act as team leader on complex systems projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a similar field, or High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ten (10) years of previous experience, including implementing integration projects and MuleSoft experience.
  • Two (2) years of webMethods experience using Integration server, broker, Enterprise Gateway, and adapters like JDBC, AS400.
  • Preferred: MuleSoft Developer or Integrations Architect certification.
  • Significant knowledge of project management/change management related to development life cycles.
  • Experience in systems development, implementation, upgrades, and analyses.
  • Knowledge of enterprise coding standards and experience in writing complex code.
  • Ability to perform code reviews and understand software methodologies.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and lead groups to consensus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Strong infrastructure knowledge including servers, load balancers, firewalls, SSL, VPC, VPN, and certificates.
  • Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, CloudWatch, EC2, ECS, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Amazon MQ, and WAF is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • MuleSoft Developer or Integrations Architect certification.
  • AWS expertise in Lambda, CloudWatch, EC2, ECS, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Amazon MQ, WAF, Secrets Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or similar, or High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of relevant experience.
  • 10 years of experience in integration projects and MuleSoft implementations.
  • 2 years of webMethods experience.
