About the Role

The Principal Server Software Integration Engineer at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is a key technical role within the Data Center team, focusing on developing high-performance, energy-efficient server solutions based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon SoC. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful integration and transition of software stacks for server products, contributing to innovative computing platforms that emphasize performance, energy efficiency, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take on a lead technical role within the product software team, working closely with cross-functional teams including SoC, software, firmware, verification engineering, configuration, and release management.
  • Ensure end-to-end integration of a high-performance software stack and facilitate the timely transition to production for server products.
  • Maintain server reference platform software and firmware requirements traceability among all contributing teams.
  • Contribute to firmware architecture and design with a focus on smooth integration and Design For Test (DFT).
  • Coordinate deliverables across different releases of the reference platform with cross-functional teams.
  • Work with verification teams to validate reference platform requirements at component, integration, functional, and system levels.
  • Engage with product and program management to understand customer platform adoption challenges and address them in future releases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 7+ years, or PhD with 6+ years.
  • At least 4 years of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
  • Experience in embedded software integration roles, ideally with a focus on data center solutions.
  • Knowledge of SW/FW engineering at BIOS/UEFI, BMC firmware, and operating systems for x86/ARM64/RISC-V 64bit server platforms.
  • Ability to communicate requirements, problems, and solutions clearly with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of process improvements, tools integration, and CI/CD practices in software integration.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Proficiency with Linux datacenter distributions, Python, C/C++.
  • Experience with open-source upstream code bases and various code licenses.
  • Familiarity with tools and toolchains such as GCC, LLVM, ARM toolchains.
  • Experience in automation and scripting using C, Shell/Bash, Python, PowerShell.
  • Ability to develop tools for firmware integration, packaging, stitching, signing, and binary analysis.
  • Experience with build environments like Linux VMs, Docker, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI.
