About the Role

They are seeking a highly motivated and talented Principal Software Engineer with a strong interest in the design, development, and maintenance of full-stack AI-based enterprise applications to join their team. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and validate software products, supporting customer missions, and working on program sustainment and modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Work onsite at the RTX State College, PA Facility or RTX Cityline Facility in Richardson, TX, with periodic travel between locations.
Engage in program sustainment and modernization efforts spanning the product lifecycle, including customer engagement, requirements definition, software/hardware development & integration, system testing & validation, deployment, and maintenance.
Collaborate closely with the program team, including engineers from systems, software, cybersecurity, and infrastructure, to ensure product delivery with minimal operational impact.
Perform software engineering activities such as architecture definition and maintenance, application development, testing, integration, and documentation to ensure proper operation within factory environments.
Adhere to development standards and processes, participate in peer reviews, maintain test environments & coverage, and provide feedback for product improvements.
Support the program Chief Product Owner by executing and defining aspects of the program related to sustainment and modernization.
Work within the engineering team to ensure system reliability, maintainability, and deployability while meeting operational performance requirements.

Requirements

Minimum 8 years of experience in object-oriented software design and development using Java.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Experience with software and system-level architecture.
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of experience.
Active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date.

Nice to Have

Experience with Selenium.
Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
RHEL certification.
Security+ certification.
Nessus/ACAS experience.
