SpotOn is transforming the way restaurants and small businesses function and grow by delivering powerful, easy-to-use digital tools. Our platform supports every aspect of operations from point-of-sale and payments to online ordering, reservations, loyalty, marketing, labor management, and more - enabling success in the real world, every day. Our design team is embedded within the product organization, working closely with engineering and product managers to create intuitive, efficient solutions rooted in respect for merchants and customers, empowering them through thoughtful, purpose-built experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Influence product vision and strategy through design insights and systems thinking.
  • Guide the team in delivering high-quality, user-centered design solutions across platforms and surfaces.
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback that sharpens work and elevates the design bar.
  • Ensure consistency and excellence in design execution by championing systems thinking and design standards.

  • Refine and evolve design workflows, rituals, and tools to support effective planning, reviews, and iteration.
  • Allocate team resources thoughtfully, balancing individual growth opportunities with organizational needs.
  • Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and leveling frameworks to build a strong, scalable design team.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and advocate for user experience improvements that unlock long-term value.

Requirements

  • Relevant education or training in product design, UX, UI and/or interaction design — higher-education degree or boot camp certification are acceptable.
  • Professional portfolio that highlights your process, design thinking, aesthetic excellence and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient with design tools (e.g., Figma, FigJam, Miro, Notion) and collaboration platforms (e.g., Slack, Jira).
  • Proven track record of leading design work on complex digital products, ideally in cross-functional, agile environments.
  • Experience managing and mentoring designers at varying levels of seniority.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide teams in delivering high-quality, end-to-end product experiences across web and/or mobile.
  • Familiarity with design systems, accessibility standards, and responsive design best practices.
  • Strong leadership skills with a people-first mindset: experienced in coaching, feedback, career growth, and team health.
  • Able to connect user needs, product goals, and business outcomes to prioritize and scope work effectively.
  • Familiarity with UX research methods, design critique practices, and inclusive design principles.
  • Skilled in managing team capacity, setting priorities, and navigating ambiguity.
