The Product Designer is responsible for creating conceptual design sketches that convey body, styling, fit intent, fabrics, trims, and colors, executing the design and development of products based on creative direction, product brief, and line plan. They work closely with the Apparel Design manager and cross-functional teams to create consistent storytelling across leagues and brands, supporting seasonal, replenishment, and special event lines, and ensuring design intent is carried through to final products while balancing brand identity with creative opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create design concepts for apparel and accessory silhouettes, graphic layouts, graphic applications, fabric treatments, and construction for special events and seasonal sourced lines.
  • Support and oversee the design and development of seasonal, replenishment, and special event lines.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising, Sourcing, and Product Development teams to ensure a smooth transition from initial concepts to final products.
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure design intent is maintained through to the final product.
  • Balance brand identity rules with creative opportunities to elevate league brands and Fanatics Brands through visual storytelling.
  • Provide insights into market trends, consumer insights, and competition, with a focus on commercial viability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Design, Merchandising, or related field with 2-4 years of professional experience; or 4+ years of professional experience in Apparel/Accessories Design without a degree.
  • Portfolio of previous work demonstrating apparel design skills.
  • Strong knowledge of apparel design, fabrics, trims, garment styling, and construction techniques.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, with awareness of latest creative software and techniques.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Results-focused and highly detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work within deadlines and manage multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Sports and Licensed properties and a passion for great product and design.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with trend forecasting and consumer insights.
  • Knowledge of additional creative software programs and techniques.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
