Job Description

About the Role

AARP Services, Inc., founded in 1999, is a wholly-owned taxable subsidiary of AARP. It manages provider relationships and performs quality control oversight of products and services that carry the AARP name, including health, financial, travel, leisure products, and life event services. The company engages in new product development and provides consulting services. The Product Development (PD) team leads initiatives to expand existing and identify new products and services for AARP's membership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain an understanding of the PD team's goals, expected outcomes, processes, and deliverables
  • Research AI tools best suited to aid the PD team in accomplishing its goals
  • Develop prompts for each PD team capability that are meant to be recycled for new assignments
  • Own one or more PD assignment(s) to identify and/or execute a product expansion opportunity for the AARP Membership where the AI prompts are deployed as live use-cases, deliver on the assignment, as well as lessons learned from the use of the AI tools

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university as rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or postdoctoral students, and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship
  • Pursuing a degree in business, data science, computer science, artificial intelligence, or a related field
  • Proficient in AI platforms and tools
  • Experience with prompt engineering and integrating prompts for specific tasks
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be a self-starter and adaptable, with the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, anticipate project needs, and discern work priorities
  • Ability to work well with diverse populations, including gender, race, and sexual orientation

Nice to Have

  • Certifications related to AI or prompt engineering are preferred but not required

Benefits & Perks

  • This paid internship has an anticipated start date of Summer 2025
  • Compensation ranges from $18/hour for undergraduates, $21/hour for graduate students, and $28/hour for Ph.D. candidates
  • In office/open office environment with remote work options on Mondays and Fridays within the United States and its territories
  • AARP will not sponsor an employment visa for this position at this time
