About the Role

The position is for a Python Developer on a 6-month contract with potential extension, located onsite in McLean, VA. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions in the financial industry, with a focus on web applications that handle data, analytics, and reporting components. The candidate will work in a professional environment utilizing various frameworks and tools, and will be expected to contribute to automation, deployment, and system resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Design solutions, write code, test code, automate testing and deployment as a senior engineer.
Develop and maintain high-quality software code and automated tests (including Unit, Functional, Performance, Acceptance) for web interface applications that integrate data, analytics, and reporting components.
Ensure predictable results by making changes in code that can be proven to be correct and bug-free.
Maintain production resilience by ensuring the system is highly available with minimal downtime.
Develop scalable calculations to maintain high performance over large data sets.
Pick up new technologies and contribute to story tasks including design, coding, testing, CI/CD, and deployment.

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on experience as a Python Developer in a relatable role.
Experience in the financial industry.
Proficiency with Django, Flask, FastAPI, NumPy, pandas, and Relational Databases.
Experience with writing Python code and RESTful web services using frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI.
Experience with automation testing tools like Pytest, Unittest, Monkey patch, pytest-mockito.
Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Gradle, Jenkins, git, Cona, pip, Jira, Gitlab, Confluence.
Experience with DevOps tools and environments including Linux and Docker.
