About the Role

This Quality Assurance Analyst II is responsible for creating test cases, end-to-end test plans, executing the plans, managing all activities to ensure that all the objectives are met and that the solution works as expected. Quality Assurance includes functionality, performance, reliability, stability and compatibility with current, legacy and/or external systems. This role is responsible for validating testing is well planned and executed ensuring every phase and feature of the software solution is tested, potential issues are identified and presented to the team before the solution is implemented in production. The analyst is also responsible for coordination and maintenance of all lab environments as well as assisting the business as needed during the completion of user test cases and user acceptance testing. Overall, the Quality Assurance Analyst II is responsible for the quality of the systems delivered by the IS Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate test plans, ensuring the plans are complete and will validate testing.
  • Perform functional and performance testing as defined by requirements, EPICs or user stories.
  • Lead the software QA function for the project team and perform final signoff as a condition for production readiness.
  • Ensure developers have completed unit testing.
  • Determine probe insertion point(s) in infrastructure, or at application layer for further testing.
  • Enhance existing performance metrics to effectively measure capabilities/issues in the system.
  • Write comprehensive performance test plans for load testing, stress testing, soak testing and scalability testing for capacity planning.
  • Manage all test environments to include preparation for any integration testing and user acceptance testing.
  • Work with Business Analysts and Project Managers/Scrum Masters to meet deliverable deadlines for various projects.
  • Identify test requirements from specifications, flow charts and documented project requirements.
  • Facilitate meetings with project team members and business users to review test case progress, defect logs, and production readiness.
  • Communicate bugs and test results clearly to developers and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to standards and procedures for program design and testing.
  • Recommend program improvements or revisions to developers and management.
  • Coordinate testing by users and third parties.
  • Assist users in isolating possible problems post-implementation.
  • Conduct compatibility tests with other software, hardware, operating systems, and network environments.
  • Monitor program performance after deployment to prevent recurrence of issues and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Document, track, and communicate test plans, results, analysis, and unresolved problems.
  • Assist with QA standards, documentation, and mentoring new QA associates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or related experience.
  • Five or more years of experience with in-store systems or in a support role, or five or more years of operations management in retail, or four or more years in a Support Analyst or Business Analyst role with QA/training experience.
  • Experience with Agile framework or QA processes.
  • Knowledge of SQL and Oracle database platforms, including writing, running, and understanding query scripts.
  • Experience with Mainframe and Control M testing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and interpret technical instructions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Visio, Internet software, and Project.
  • Physical ability to sit for prolonged periods, handle and reach with hands, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and perform visual and cognitive tasks.
