Job Description

About the Role

The position of Quality Assurance Engineer involves developing and implementing standard operating procedures and surveillance plans for Contract Management Office (CMO) Quality Assurance Engineering (QAE). The role includes contributing to policy development, training, and providing guidance to engineers and QA specialists to ensure effective surveillance and performance assessment of quality systems within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Contract Management Office (CMO) Quality Assurance Engineering (QAE) standard operating procedures and surveillance plan.
  • Develop CMO standard operating procedures that define how QAE policy and processes will be implemented throughout the CMO.
  • Contribute to the development and deployment of new QAE policy, training plans, programs, courses, and tools.
  • Develop and provide guidance to engineers and QA Specialists for establishing effective and efficient QAE surveillance plans.
  • Develop and maintain a core set of QAE program measures to assess program performance.
  • Develop and maintain a core set of QAE effectiveness and efficiency measures to assess the results of the CMO's QAE surveillance efforts.
  • Provide classification of quality characteristics of products and processes, and of defects discovered in nonconforming products and processes.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Security requirements include Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance.
  • Appointment is subject to a favorable suitability or fitness determination and background checks.
  • Must be registered or exempt from Selective Service if applicable.
  • Drug test required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher in professional engineering, with specific coursework or accreditation, or equivalent education and experience.
  • One year of specialized experience in quality assurance engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to electronics, aerospace, and aircraft engineering assignments.
  • Experience with quality assurance concepts, providing technical support to contracts, performing quality surveillance and audits, and supporting integration of complex systems.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with quality system audits and process improvement recommendations.
  • Experience supporting the integration of air and space electronics and complex weapon systems components and software.

Qualifications

  • Official transcripts required if qualifying based on education.
  • Graduate education may be considered equivalent to one year of full-time study (18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours).
  • Foreign education must be evaluated for equivalency by a recognized organization.
