About the Role

The Quality Assurance Specialist (Aircraft) is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a risk-based surveillance program and assessment plan to ensure contractor compliance with quality standards related to the design, manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and modernization of aircraft and related items. The role involves serving as a member of multi-functional or technical teams, conducting independent audits, analyzing process data, and providing technical support to support U.S. Government acquisition efforts at various supplier facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform duties associated with the administration of the quality assurance provisions of contracts by designing, implementing, and maintaining a risk-based surveillance program and assessment plan.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements through analysis of process measurement data.
  • Serve as a member of a multi-functional or technical team and implement the overall Quality Program for multiple products and services.
  • Ensure contractors comply with all requirements related to design, manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and modernization activities.
  • Independently audit and survey contractors' processes to ensure customer and contractual requirements are met.
  • Investigate and provide data on customer complaints and concerns regarding contractors' quality performance and processes.
  • Provide technical support to Agency team members, assisting in the analysis of contract-related issues to determine the best course of action.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Security clearance: Non-Critical Sensitive with Secret Access.
  • Favorable suitability or fitness determination; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • One year of specialized experience applying quality assurance concepts, principles, methods, and practices to analyze contractor products or services.
  • Experience evaluating and inspecting production methods, processes, and testing techniques performed by contractors.
  • Experience applying statistical and quality data analysis evaluations to determine contractual compliance.
  • Alternatively, possession of a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M. if related.
  • Education from an accredited college or university, with transcripts required if qualifying via education.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance concepts, principles, and practices relevant to aircraft and contractor processes.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with aircraft quality assurance or related aerospace industry experience.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Government acquisition processes and contractor oversight.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools and techniques.

Qualifications

  • Educational credentials must be from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Transcripts must include your name, college/university, course list, credits/hours completed, and degree conferred date.
  • Current licenses must be maintained at the time of application.
