About the Role

Asylon automates security operations using robots, software, and AI in order to help its customers protect their people, property, and assets. Asylon was founded in 2015 by three MIT aerospace engineers who have worked on a variety of projects in the aerospace industry from the V-22 Osprey to commercial jet engines to defense systems on Navy destroyers. With our team's strong background in aerospace, Asylon develops products consistent with the quality standards demanded by commercial and military customers. Today, Asylon is a dynamic team that is passionate about robots and committed to building and operating safe, high quality products that solve the greatest challenges facing the robotics and security industries. We are building a diverse team that creates novel solutions and provides previously unrealized services via robotics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Software development for DroneHome, our robotic battery swap station, to integrate electro-mechanical systems and enhance the system's capabilities.
  • Software development for DroneSentry, our drone, and DroneDog, our Spot-based quadruped, to create new features for our users and enhance reliability.
  • Coordinate, develop, and test product updates, including Software in the Loop (SIL) and Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testing.
  • Enhance robustness of our robotics systems.
  • Work closely with our engineering and operations teams to understand customer and company requirements and create solutions in a rapidly changing environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience with software development on robotic systems.
  • 3+ years of experience with high level programming languages, such as Python.
  • Experience working on commercial robotics systems.
  • Experience with Linux.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with containers.
  • Experience with Yocto.
  • Experience with CI/CD and unattended deployment.
  • Experience with C/C++.
  • Experience with drones.
  • Experience with ArduPilot.
  • Experience with MAVLink.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Experience with machine learning and SLAM.
  • Experience integrating with robotic sensors, such as IMUs and GNSS units.

  • Ability to commute to Norristown, PA 19401 (Required).
  • Ability to relocate to Norristown, PA 19401 before starting work (Required).
