About the Role

Miso Robotics is transforming the restaurant industry, and making food workers' lives better. Our signature product is an AI-powered kitchen robot named Flippy which automates the dangerous operation of a restaurant's fry station and cooks all sorts of fried items. Flippy is powered by a sophisticated AI platform driven by our proprietary and patented technologies. Miso is a well known first-mover in kitchen automation, AI, and robotics. The company has raised over $150 million from equity crowdfunding, which we believe makes it THE most successful crowdfunding story in history. It has successfully piloted its products with the most prominent global brands in food, and now it's time for the company to scale. Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance software for complex robotic systems.
Own the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to testing and release.
Improve code quality and system performance through algorithm optimization, refactoring, and code reviews.
Develop robust automated unit and system-level tests to ensure reliability and stability.
Collaborate cross-functionally to define requirements, assess risks, and deliver features on time and within budget.
Document system architecture and data flow, and support team growth through mentorship and process improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
2+ years of professional experience developing software in Python or C++, ideally for robotics or automation.
Strong grasp of kinematics, control systems, motion planning, and real-time software concepts.
Experience with ROS, Linux, Docker, Git, and modern development tools (e.g., CMake, databases).
Proven ability to deliver commercial software through multiple SDLC phases, including testing and deployment.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience in agile or distributed team environments.
Must be available to work onsite in Pasadena, CA and travel up to 25%.

Nice to Have

Experience with commercial off-the-shelf robotic arms.
Experience advancing the performance of robotic systems with ML/AI.

Qualifications

Educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Experience with robotics or automation software development.

Benefits & Perks

$100,000-$130,000/yr + Equity + Benefits
The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base salary range for candidates residing in the Los Angeles Metro area and excludes additional earnings such as bonus and benefits.
