The Sales Operations and Marketing Manager role at Smith-Blair involves collaborating with various departments to drive profitable growth in the clamp and coupling market, with a focus on customer service, marketing, communications, and partner programs. The position also aligns closely with the corporate marketing team and emphasizes strategic messaging, market research, and relationship building to establish Smith-Blair as a market SME.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop the customer service team to improve service and support growth.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline the sales process and enhance efficiency.
  • Deliver training to various stakeholders to support sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Develop and execute an overall marketing plan, including managing all marketing collateral such as price books and catalogs.
  • Manage and update the company's website and social media channels.
  • Coordinate and manage all major tradeshows and represent the company at events as needed.
  • Utilize tools to make product content accessible and understandable.
  • Provide strategic messaging and technical content about differentiated solutions.
  • Develop demand/lead generation strategies, including advertising and messaging campaigns.
  • Establish Smith-Blair as a subject matter expert in the market and build relationships with industry groups.
  • Research, analyze, and communicate market and competitive intelligence.
  • Work with Sales to develop metrics and processes to enable partner success.
  • Implement customer retention strategies, including managing net promoter score.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Sales, and Operations for project alignment.
  • Gather Voice of Customer (VOC) insights for new product development.
  • Ensure marketing collateral and communications comply with Xylem brand standards.
  • Foster an environment of best process sharing among the team.
  • Participate in Watermark and other programs aligned with Xylem's purpose-driven culture.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • More than 5 years of relevant work experience, including some leadership of teams.
  • Industry knowledge preferred, such as channel sales or water utilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to work onsite daily at the plant facility.
  • Proficiency in managing customer service, marketing, and digital channels.
  • Strong analytical skills for market research and competitive intelligence.
  • Experience in developing and executing marketing and demand generation strategies.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the water industry or related sectors.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tools and social media management.
  • Experience with trade show planning and event representation.

Qualifications

  • Educational background with a BA/BS degree in relevant fields; MBA is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, including leadership roles.
