SAP ABAP Developer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ABAP and/or Fiori-based applications and programs within the S/4HANA environment, leveraging SAP technologies and programming concepts in modules such as FI/CO, SD, MM, QM, and PP.
• Identify and lead business outcome improvement initiatives using the latest S/4HANA development tools and techniques (such as CDS views, BOPF, and AMDP) and SAP Fiori.
• Collaborate with functional counterparts to drive problem resolution and data analysis with predictable outcomes in development design.
• Co-lead with functional counterparts to determine the best approach to solve business process or problem statements through configuration and/or ABAP/Fiori development.
• Record detailed requirements in technical specifications, ensuring all interdependencies are considered and addressed in code changes.
• Implement best practices in development techniques, including optimizing ABAP code for performance, minimizing database calls, and using modular programming.
• Analyze and monitor changes to business processes, making adjustments as needed, and present progress reports or solutions to address feedback or schedule risks.
• Perform testing, approvals, and execution of S/4HANA ABAP or Fiori-based designs to optimize business performance.
• Analyze defects/issues through debugging and apply performance optimization techniques.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a relevant field involving programming concepts, software development, and/or database design.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience implementing SAP ABAP modules/concepts, including SAP HANA architecture, code remediation, and compliance techniques.
• Proficiency with ABAP Development Tools (ADT), HANA Developer Studio, ADBC, Native SQL, AMDP, Core Data Services, and BRF+.
• Experience with Object-Oriented Programming, workflows, OData services, BDCs, BAPIs, Module Pool Programming, and interfaces such as IDOC, file, ABAP Proxy, SOA, and REST.
• Ability to analyze code defects/issues and apply performance optimization techniques.
• Experience developing custom and standard SAP applications using S/4HANA technologies, including SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript).
• Knowledge of SAP HANA database capabilities, S/4HANA data model, CDS views, and SAP Basis administration tasks.
• Familiarity with SAP Web IDE, Eclipse, SAP NetWeaver Gateway, OData services, and transport management via Solution Manager.
• Ability to analyze functional specifications and develop technical solutions for RICEFW objects.
• Demonstrated leadership in full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementation or enterprise-wide redesign.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.

Nice to Have

• SAP certifications in ABAP programming, SAP HANA, and SAP S/4HANA.
• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with SAP Basis administration tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
