About the Role

The School of Applied Professional Studies in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts at Arizona State University invites applications for part-time Faculty Associate positions in Technical Writing and Communication for the 2025-2026 academic year. The role involves teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, preparing class materials, evaluating student work, and holding office hours to assist students. These are fixed-term, non-tenure appointments with no more than 0.40 FTE per semester, contingent upon unit needs and enrollment. The program offers immersive and online degrees and certificates aimed at enhancing professional and academic development, guided by ASU's commitment to inclusive excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Technical Communication.
Prepare class materials for assigned courses.
Evaluate student work and provide feedback.
Hold office hours to assist students with course content and academic progress.
Contribute to the development and management of curriculum as needed.

Requirements

Master's degree in technical communication, professional writing, user experience, or a related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment.
Teaching or training experience.
Commitment to advancing ASU's Charter and Design Aspirations.
Three years of professional experience.

Nice to Have

PhD in technical communication, professional writing, user experience, or a related field from a peer institution or similar.
Two years of post-secondary teaching or training experience.
Experience developing and/or managing curriculum.
Demonstrated ability to teach in digital environments.
Five years of professional experience.

Qualifications

Master's degree in relevant field.
Teaching or training experience.
Three years' professional experience.
