About the Role

This role is for a hands-on Scala developer responsible for delivering high-quality code within a big data platform, focusing on transaction monitoring, customer activity review, and related activities. The position involves collaboration with senior stakeholders and technology teams to define and influence strategies for next-generation solutions, ensuring regulatory compliance. The candidate will work with a global team on in-house data processing solutions for financial crime control applications, with an onsite requirement in Manhattan, NY for a long-term project.

Key Responsibilities

Understand and implement tactical or strategic solutions for business problems.
Discuss business needs and technology requirements with stakeholders.
Define and derive strategic solutions and identify tactical solutions when necessary.
Write technical design and solution documents following Agile (SCRUM) standards.
Perform data analysis to support development and business needs.
Conduct unit testing of developed code using automated BDD test frameworks.
Participate in testing efforts to validate and approve technology solutions.
Follow standards for automated release processes across environments.
Perform automated regression testing and support UAT of solutions.
Collaborate with other FCT & NFRT teams using collaborative techniques.

Requirements

5+ years of experience as a hands-on Scala/Spark developer.
Hands-on SQL writing skills on RDBMS (DB2) databases.
Ability to perform code optimization for performance, scalability, and configurability.
At least 2 years of experience in HDFS platform development projects.
Proficiency in data analysis, data profiling, and data lineage.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience working in Agile projects.
