Job Description

About the Role

The Senior AI Audio Applied Research Engineer at NVIDIA is responsible for understanding and summarization tasks, fine-tuning multi-modal network architectures for optimal accuracy and inference speed, writing optimal inference kernels for NVIDIA hardware, creating prototypes to demonstrate real-life applications, constructing and curating large problem-specific datasets, and collaborating with diverse teams including AI/DL researchers, hardware architects, and software engineers. The role involves staying current with the latest AI/DL research and participating in technology transfers across NVIDIA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand and perform summarization tasks related to AI audio applications.
  • Fine-tune multi-modal network architectures for optimal accuracy and inference speed.
  • Write optimal inference kernels optimized for NVIDIA hardware.
  • Create prototypes to demonstrate real-life applications and accelerate productization.
  • Construct and curate large, problem-specific datasets.
  • Keep up with the latest AI and deep learning research.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams including AI/DL researchers, hardware architects, and software engineers.
  • Participate in technology transfer activities within NVIDIA.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in computer science/engineering, Machine Learning, AI, or related fields (or equivalent experience).
  • 12+ years of machine learning / deep learning research or work experience.
  • Solid understanding of audio signal processing and natural language processing.
  • Excellent programming skills in C/C++.
  • Knowledge of parallel programming such as CUDA and TensorRT is a big plus.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
  • Proven research excellence via presentations, demos, or publications at leading venues such as GDC, ICCV/CVPR, NeurIPS, InterSpeech, ICASSP, SIGGRAPH, etc., or other research artifacts like software projects or significant product development.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of parallel programming (i.e., CUDA and TensorRT).

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in relevant fields.
  • Extensive experience (12+ years) in machine learning or deep learning research or application.
