As a Senior AI Full Stack Software Engineer with CoverMyMeds, you'll be responsible for developing cutting-edge AI solutions to improve healthcare outcomes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy AI models and applications that enhance patient care, streamline clinical workflows, and drive business growth. Your role will involve leveraging advanced technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and cloud computing to create innovative AI products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy AI applications that support decision-making, patient engagement, and operational efficiency
  • Build scalable systems that incorporate LLMs, voice/image recognition, and document parsing into existing healthcare IT infrastructure
  • Ensure secure, HIPAA-compliant data pipelines for training and deploying AI models using structured and unstructured healthcare data (e.g., clinical notes, imaging, lab results)
  • Apply rigorous evaluation metrics (e.g., sensitivity, specificity, AUC-ROC) and ensure models meet regulatory and ethical standards
  • Guide junior engineers and contribute to the strategic direction of AI initiatives within the organization

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience, and minimum 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in AI/ML development
  • 2+ years of experience building AI solutions in healthcare or life sciences
  • Deep understanding of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHI) and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
  • Proficiency in Python, Node.js, and modern web frameworks
  • Experience with secure cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with AI tooling such as OpenAI, Hugging Face, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and healthcare-specific AI libraries
  • Ability to communicate complex AI concepts to clinical and executive stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience with building retrieval-augmented generation systems using LangChain, LlamaIndex, and vector databases
  • Advanced techniques for prompt tuning, caching, and benchmarking

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • Minimum 3+ years in AI/ML development
  • Experience building AI solutions in healthcare or life sciences
