The role of Senior Customer Development Analyst involves partnering with retail teams to provide category solutions and insights that drive profitable omni-channel growth, working on beloved brands, and supporting business strategies through data analysis and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement customer development strategies to drive business growth and increase market share.
  • Analyze customer data and market trends to identify opportunities for revenue growth and customer acquisition.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions to meet customer needs and enhance customer experience.
  • Uncover business opportunities through deep-dive analytics, discerning trends, and providing insights-based recommendations using data sources such as retailer loyalty data, syndicated data (Nielsen/IRI), marketplace, numerator, eCommerce data sources, and HH Panel Assessments.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of sales data and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and drive business performance.
  • Collaborate with Customer Development Managers to evolve promotional plans, evaluate the impact of pricing, and track competitive marketplace activity to unlock growth opportunities.
  • Prepare and present regular and ad hoc reports to support sales and marketing management decisions.
  • Track and analyze sales force performance metrics to provide insights on sales force effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot inquiries about sales data and provide actionable information to improve sales results.
  • Develop and conduct training on data applications and tools to enhance sales performance.
  • Provide SKU optimization recommendations by offering shopper, category, brand, and customer insights to support strategies.
  • Support new product launches by developing fact-based category stories, fact books, UPC codes, or artwork.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance sales analytical support.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of experience in customer development, market analysis, or related field.
  • 2+ years of prior experience in customer sales, merchandising, analytics, or in a consumer products environment.
  • University/Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of proven working experience in sales and marketing analytics.
  • Ability to summarize and influence decisions through data.
  • Ability to assess marketplace and various consumer retail business models.
  • Strong digital literacy, including MS Office Suite applications, database information sources, and web applications.
  • Experience with retailer loyalty card data and/or shopper panel data preferred.
  • Microsoft Power BI, Nielsen Panel, Numerator, & Space management (JDA) experience preferred.
  • eCommerce and omnichannel experience preferred.
  • Fundamental knowledge of statistical methods preferred.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Buffalo Grove, IL or Chicago, IL at least 2 days a week.
  • This role requires up to 10% domestic travel.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with retailer loyalty card data and/or shopper panel data.
  • Microsoft Power BI, Nielsen Panel, Numerator, & Space management (JDA) experience.
  • eCommerce and omnichannel experience.
  • Space management and CRM experience.
  • Working knowledge of Discover (Nielsen), Unify (Circana), Numerator Insights shopper panel, and Promo Intel.
