Job Description

About the Role

The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for finding meaning in data as a thought leader to support informed decision-making within the organization. This role involves engaging in data exploration, analysis, and interpretation to develop business insights and recommendations, supporting data questions from stakeholders, and mentoring junior staff. The position is part of the HealthCare Analytics department and requires advanced technical skills and analytical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engages in data exploration using various programming languages, requiring advanced knowledge of multiple database structures.
  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets data to glean insights and develop business appropriate recommendations.
  • Researches and analyzes data flow across complex data ecosystems including operational and analytical data platforms.
  • Serves as an expert resource supporting data questions and issues from stakeholders and driving to resolution.
  • Leads in the design, development, validation, and delivery of data to provide insight into business decisions.
  • Manages the collection of business and technical requirements from stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Produces technical documentation that is consistent with professional standards.
  • Acts as a resource and mentor to junior staff, guiding and mentoring less experienced team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business, or a related field, or an additional 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an analytical or quantitative role.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and complex joins.
  • Experience with Power BI, including building dashboards using Power BI Report Builder and Desktop.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric (dataflows, lakehouses, semantic models).
  • Intermediate-to-advanced Python skills (pandas, numpy, matplotlib/seaborn) for data wrangling and analysis.
  • Experience conducting diagnostic and exploratory data analysis (EDA).
  • Ability to apply analytical techniques such as segmentation, regression, and time-series analysis.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of analytical tools, languages, applications, and platforms.
  • Ability to learn quickly, meet deadlines, and handle multiple demands.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the Healthcare Industry.
  • Hands-on experience with Big Data/NoSQL Platforms and delivering production projects at scale.
  • Familiarity with Git, dbt, or other version-controlled data development workflows.
  • Masters degree in a quantitative field such as Business Analytics, Statistics, or Data Science.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an analytical/quantitative role.
