About the Role

We are looking for dedicated Software and DevOps engineers to join our team in Austin. This role has significant impact in improving the engineering experience at Arm! Productivity Engineering supplies the tools and systems needed for creation of our software and hardware IP. Within this group, the Software & DevOps function provides DevOps tooling used across the company's engineering population, as well as focusing on the tooling needs of software engineers. As a Senior Engineer at Arm, you will own technical deliveries, with responsibility from requirements through to planning, implementation, and delivery. At the heart of our approach is a genuine passion for improving the lives of other Engineers at Arm, and a complete focus on delivering solutions aligned to business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Working hands-on with a variety of technologies, to provide a first-class engineering experience for Arm's hardware and software engineers.
Developing software build and test solutions using CI/CD, binary, secret, and test management.
Developing services using SaaS, cloud-based environments, and large-scale clustered compute.
Exploiting virtualization and cloud technologies using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
Improving the daily life and productivity of engineers across Arm.
Supporting and guiding the engineering community on how best to utilize the services offered.
Engaging in development and operational work, ranging from minor improvements to multi-month strategic projects.
Collaborating with other engineering teams at Arm.

Requirements

Experience of Linux-based infrastructure design, provisioning, and maintenance.
Good knowledge of Cloud services, with experience in at least one of the following: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
Demonstrable experience in Infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet.
Experience with common SDLC tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, GitLab.
Knowledge of containerization technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD.
Proficiency in interpreted languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Ruby, Perl) and compiled languages (e.g., Golang, C, C++, Java).

Nice to Have

Experience working in a Platform Engineering environment, with a focus on developer experience and productivity, and enabling self-service access through automation.
A good understanding of the software development lifecycle.
An active interest in Open-Source Software.
Experience building or integrating with Internal Developer Portals (Backstage/React/TypeScript).
Experience of Microservice Software development.
