Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in designing, building, and operating the infrastructure that enables observability of critical assets across the organization, ensuring optimal performance and availability, automating processes, and driving cost efficiency.
  • Ensure Gartner's enterprise application environments are stable, reliable, and secure, meeting or exceeding SLA and OLA standards.
  • Support key partners such as security and application development teams to deliver desired business outcomes.
  • Enable data-driven and proactive decisions by collaborating with other teams, collecting and analyzing logs, metrics, and traces from various sources, and creating alerts, reports, and visualizations.
  • Apply debugging and troubleshooting skills to identify root causes of issues and resolve them.
  • Contribute to code, configuration, and knowledge bases, review others' contributions, and develop, document, and refine processes and standards.
  • Participate in team practices such as planning, retrospectives, peer review, and working sessions.
  • Assist in guiding junior team members.
  • Provide status reports to the Team Manager, Director, and VP of Reliability Services.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, implement and report on proof of concepts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree (or equivalent work experience).
  • 4-8 years of experience operating a relevant enterprise log analysis framework.
  • Deep knowledge of installing, configuring, maintaining, and using observability and data analysis tools such as Splunk, OTEL, Cribl, Dynatrace, Grafana, Clickhouse, EMR, Catchpoint, etc.
  • Skilled in data processing, visualization, and analysis using SPL, SQL, Regex, Javascript, Python, Bash, Powershell, HTML, CSS, and experience with AI/ML.
  • Familiar with automation, DevOps, CI/CD, and IaC tools like Terraform, Jenkins, Git, Ansible, and API integrations.
  • Understanding of cloud and serverless/containerized technologies such as AWS, Azure, S3, Lambda, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Comfortable with Linux administration and troubleshooting utilities.
  • Good understanding of software, network, and systems design principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet or exceed team standards, seek process improvements, and work proactively.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with developing and working in cloud environments and with serverless and containerized technologies.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML applications.
