Job Description

About the Role

This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which, due to federal government security requirements, mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native). The position involves developing, building, deploying, and supporting security-specific solutions and infrastructure to help protect Workday customers' data. It requires working in a rapidly moving microservices environment with a focus on resilience and scalability, and includes operation and maintenance of critical production systems with regular after-hours support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, build, deploy, and support security-specific solutions and infrastructure to protect Workday customers' data.
  • Support and maintain enterprise-grade security tools and services for the Security Products initiatives.
  • Operate and maintain critical production systems, ensuring resilience and scalability.
  • Coordinate with teams locally and across time zones to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide regular after-hours production support in the event of critical service outages.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid and active TS/SCI with CI POLY security clearance.
  • 5+ years of software development or DevOps experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with internet protocols TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience with Linux and container technologies (K8s, Docker).
  • 3+ years of experience using, deploying, and applying AWS, Google Cloud Platform.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience automating infrastructure in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Go, Ruby, or Java.
  • Experience running databases (SQL and NoSQL).
  • Knowledge and experience working with cryptographic, PKI, or key management systems such as HSMs.
  • Experience with full life-cycle software engineering practices including coding standards, testing, code reviews, source control management, and operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with orchestration and deployment tools e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Chef.
  • Experience with CI tools e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo, Artifactory.
  • Strong background in Linux and Shell Scripting.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cryptographic, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), or key management systems such as HSMs.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
