Key Responsibilities
- Set the vision for teaching and learning UX at Udemy, ensuring our platform is not only functional but inspiring, competitive, and visually iconic.
- Elevate design across multiple global teams (US and Europe), acting as a player-coach who guides by example while mentoring senior talent.
- Influence at the highest levels, presenting confidently to C-level stakeholders and driving alignment between design, product, and business strategy.
- Lead innovation in AI-powered UX, prototyping the future of personalized learning, content creation, and global classroom experiences.
- Build culture, creating an environment where designers do the best work of their careers—grounded in collaboration, inclusion, and shared purpose.
- Scale impact by operationalizing design processes and systems that enable consistent, high-quality outcomes across products, regions, and modalities.
Requirements
- 10+ years of product design leadership, including 5+ years leading and mentoring multi-disciplinary design teams at scale.
- A portfolio that demonstrates excellent design execution, ability to drive vision, influence outcomes, and scale impact across complex ecosystems.
- Deep experience designing for web and mobile platforms; fluency in video-based, subscription, or creator-driven products is a strong plus.
- Comfort and confidence engaging with executive stakeholders; proven ability to align design strategy with business goals and outcomes.
- Expertise in design systems, UX strategy, and operational excellence to drive efficiency and consistency.
- Fluency in emerging AI design tools and experience shaping AI-powered product features.
- A track record of building strong, collaborative team cultures across geographies.
- Exceptional communication skills that inspire trust, alignment, and clarity across disciplines.
