Key Responsibilities

Defining and leading the Marketplace team's design strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals and user needs
Mentoring and developing a team of designers and managers, focusing on career growth and team success
Partnering with product and engineering to create exceptional, user-centered solutions
Establishing and communicating a cohesive design vision while delivering on short- and long-term goals
Reviewing and refining designs, roadmaps, and strategies, ensuring the highest quality and alignment
Driving the integration of new features and technologies into the platform while maintaining a seamless experience
Balancing big-picture strategy with actionable, incremental improvements
Advocating for the role of design across the organization, inspiring teams to prioritize innovation and quality

Requirements

10+ years of experience designing and delivering impactful user experiences, with strategic and measurable outcomes
5+ years of leadership experience managing and scaling design teams, ideally with specific growth and search design experience
A proven track record of hiring, coaching, and retaining top design talent
Experience driving adoption of new products, features, or technologies through strategic design
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
A collaborative mindset, thriving in cross-functional partnerships with product and engineering
A strong ability to think both strategically and tactically, balancing vision with execution
A commitment to adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, evolving environment
