Senior Director, Revenue Cycle Management

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage large teams to improve processes around all revenue cycle functions, including billing, collections, cash posting, statement processing, accounts receivable, coding, denial management, contract management and underpayments.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize the revenue cycle, ensuring compliance with regulations and achieving operational goals.
• Review, design, and implement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the revenue cycle.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients (mainly hospitals) and senior management (C-Suite level). Meet with customers on a regular, consistent basis (up to 30% travel, but generally 10-20%).
• Track metrics, identify trends, and make recommendations for areas of improvement.
• Develop budgets, policies, and procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Manage expenses efficiently.
• Promote compliance with CMS, third-party payers, coding, and billing regulations.
• Oversee the development and coordination of ongoing education for new on and offshore staff. Remain current on industry trends, market activities, and competitor offerings.
• Develop and oversee a comprehensive quality assurance and productivity program for all staff.
• Collaborate with operational leadership to optimize workflows and technology, including the use of AI driven functionality. Build and maintain vendor relationships.
• Develop and manage key performance indicators and metrics, ensuring adherence to fiscal targets.
• Participate in customer and prospective customer meetings as a subject matter expert on MEDHOST software products and services.
• Prepare RCM Service Contracts and participate in Contract "red-lining". Work with Sales Team on answering hospital operation questions as well as educate them on software and services.
• Collaborate with the Marketing team to help create marketing material, sales campaigns, and assist in creating white papers as it relates to RCM Services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 10 years in healthcare revenue cycle services in a hospital environment, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Preferably with knowledge of MEDHOST revenue cycle software products and their use.
• Proven client relationship skills.
• Experience with multi-facility entities to rural health/community hospitals.
• Ability to travel to hospital locations or events as assigned up to 30%.
• Understanding of hospital operations and clinical/financial processes.
• Excellent written, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong judgement, detail-oriented, organized, can multi-task, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail and work independently.
• Ability to work within a team environment, demonstrating supportive relationships with peers, clients, partners, and hospital executives while leading projects.
• Must be flexible with a "can-do" attitude and remain professional under high-pressure situations.
• Ability to retain and protect confidential material.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
