This role is for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer eager to contribute to a small, fast-paced team developing encrypted communications systems, including Layer 2 and Layer 3 In-line Network Encryptors, embedded cryptographic devices, and emerging cryptographic solutions. The engineer will collaborate with system, test, and hardware engineers as new capabilities are developed and transitioned into service.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implementation with embedded software in C/C++ and Rust for an embedded environment.
Develop software to support encrypted communications systems including Layer 2 and Layer 3 In-line Network Encryptors, embedded cryptographic devices, and emerging cryptographic solutions.
Interface and collaborate with system, test, and hardware engineers as new capabilities are developed and transitioned into service.
Perform Linux OS development, including kernel driver development/modifications.
Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver embedded software solutions.
Plan, track, and report on progress using Agile Scrum development methodologies.
Develop standalone embedded applications and utilize CI/CD software development practices.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
A minimum of 7 years of professional experience using C++.
A minimum of 7 years of professional experience with network programming.
Design and implementation experience with embedded software in C/C++.
Basic understanding of TCP/IP and common network configuration.
Object-oriented software development experience.
Experience with Agile Scrum development.
Ability to plan, track, and report on progress.
Good oral and written communication skills.
US citizenship and active SECRET or TOP SECRET security clearance.
Able to travel up to 10%.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with Linux kernel driver development/modifications.
Rust development experience.
Experience with bare metal embedded device drivers.
Experience with microprocessors and embedded processors (NIOS, ARM, RISC-V, etc.).
Experience with networking protocols (e.g., IPSec, MACsec, TLS, etc.).
Experience with Python development.
Experience with RESTConf interface design and implementation.
Experience with emulation environments.
Familiarity with standalone embedded applications.
Experience participating in multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
At least 7 years of professional experience with C++ and network programming.
Design and implementation experience with embedded software in C/C++.
Basic understanding of TCP/IP and network configuration.
Object-oriented development experience.
Agile Scrum development experience.
Ability to communicate effectively.

Benefits & Perks

Competitive salary range from $161,000 to $255,000 annually.
For specific locations within San Jose, San Francisco Bay area, and New York City, the base pay range is $200,500 to $300,500 annually.
