Senior Enterprise Deployment Specialist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Ansys product development teams to translate customer requirements into new product features and test new releases on industrial problems.
• Contribute to consulting services and conduct introductory and/or intermediate training classes.
• Lead the deployment of software releases to customer environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with business units and development teams to improve software quality.
• Implement automation such as CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployments.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate provisioning, deployment, and scaling of applications and environments.
• Implement and manage monitoring and logging systems to detect and resolve issues promptly.
• Advise on system scalability, security, and performance considerations.
• Assist in developing technical roadmaps aligned with strategic business goals.
• Review software architecture designs to ensure best practices and customer requirements are met.
• Serve as a technical expert during client interactions, providing pre and post-sales support.
• Troubleshoot complex issues in customer environments to ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Work closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Requirements

• BS, MS in an engineering discipline, computer science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience with a BS, 1 year with an MS, or no minimum with a PhD in an engineering software environment.
• Experience with development tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, Git, and MS Azure DevOps or similar tools like Jira.
• Strong experience with DevOps methodologies including CI/CD, containerization, and configuration management systems.
• Two years of experience with Cloud Platforms (MS Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and understanding of cloud architecture.
• Two years of experience with Linux-based and Windows-based computer systems.
• Experience in deploying and operating web services and databases using TCP/IP, DNS, Ethernet, Virtualization, Security, and Network Administration.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of leading teams and interfacing with clients.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of the time.

Nice to Have

• Preferred education and experience: BS+5, MS+2, or PhD+0 in an engineering software environment.
• Experience with HPC systems and cluster job management systems such as Grid Engine, LSF, or PBS.
• Ability to interact effectively with senior managers and C-level executives.
• Good understanding of software architecture patterns, Web architecture, and Web APIs such as RESTful or gRPC.
• Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle and Agile practices.
• Experience with scripting languages like Python, NodeJS, Bash.
• Experience with pipeline automation and containerization.
• Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet.
• Certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Certified).

• Educational background in engineering, computer science, or related fields with relevant experience.
• Professional experience in engineering software environments, with preferred advanced degrees.
