About the Role

Join the AI Agent Engineering team at Workday, where we are pioneering cutting-edge HR & Finance AI Agents that deeply integrate within the Workday suite. Be part of an innovative, agile force architecting intelligent agents that will revolutionize our customers' workday. We are seeking a Senior Front End Engineer who will serve as a lead engineer for a cross-functional team building transformative AI agents for HR & Finance. This role is critical in defining the tooling strategy, staying ahead of industry trends, and ensuring our AI-driven solutions seamlessly integrate deeply within the Workday stack. You’ll be instrumental in shaping the user experience and developer productivity for our next generation of AI-powered features.

Key Responsibilities

Own new and existing UI features in our React application, from technical design to release, from inception to production.
Own the developer experience of Frontend development via continuous improvements to our UI infrastructure and tooling.
Own the frontend build pipeline and make it more robust and efficient.
Write high-quality, easy-to-maintain-and-extend code with plenty of tests and built-in observability.
Work as part of an Agile team in a collaborative environment where you regularly plan and implement tasks to scale and expand our rapidly growing enterprise-grade SaaS product.
Have a major impact on the professional growth and productivity levels of your teammates through design and code reviews, technical guidance, and mentoring.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in front-end software development with a demonstrated commitment to delivering an exceptional user experience.
5+ years of experience with Javascript and/or Typescript.
3+ years of experience with React + Redux.
3+ years of experience with HTML + CSS.
Excellent knowledge of software engineering best practices and agile development processes.
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written.
3+ years of experience using testing frameworks like Jest, Enzyme, or React Testing Library.
1+ years of experience using frontend build tools like Webpack, Parcel, or Rollup.
1+ years of experience with backend development with Python (Flask/FastAPI/Django, PostgreSQL on AWS).
1+ years of experience with CI/CD and Github Actions.

Nice to Have

Experience with web UI accessibility (a11y).
Experience with UI performance optimization.
Experience with data visualization concepts and libraries.
Experience with building or integrating rich online editors.
Experience with databases (relational and non-relational) and ORMs.
Experience with AWS or similar cloud computing platforms.
