This role focuses on developing and enhancing systems for PGE's wildfire mitigation program, playing a key part in protecting communities and supporting wildfire mitigation efforts through technical system design, development, and testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designs, codes, tests, corrects, and documents complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications using standards and tools to achieve a well-engineered result.
  • Leads reviews of own work and colleagues' work, and sets local or team-based standards for programming tools, system architecture, security guidelines, and development methods.
  • Provides technical responsibility for all stages of software development projects, offering guidance to stakeholders.
  • Assigns work packages, monitors performance, and manages change control to optimize productivity.
  • Maintains application support processes, investigates issues, collects performance statistics, and creates reports.
  • Advises on application security, licensing, upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery needs.
  • Investigates causes of incidents, seeks resolution, escalates unresolved issues, and facilitates recovery.
  • Documents and closes resolved incidents, analyzes causes to minimize recurrence, and reports on incident management performance.
  • Ensures appropriate action is taken to investigate and resolve system problems, documents issues, and coordinates implementation of remedies.
  • Specifies and designs large or complex systems, selecting appropriate standards and methods, and evaluating impact and risks.
  • Designs and builds integration components and interfaces, leading practical integration work and contributing to overall service design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Typically eight or more years of related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of business goals, user experience design frameworks, change management, software configuration, operating system concepts, database concepts, and service continuity planning.
  • Intermediate knowledge of infrastructure concepts.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Geospatial datasets is a plus.
  • Advanced customer-focus, accuracy, risk-management, oral and written communication, interpersonal, decision-making, organization, prioritization, meeting facilitation, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to adhere to set response times, deadlines, and work under stress.
  • Ability to communicate and problem solve collaboratively, process new information, and adapt to change.
  • Physical ability to use a computer regularly, work indoors in an office environment, and work long or variable hours including during severe weather or emergencies.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge and experience working with Geospatial datasets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Eight or more years of related experience.
