About the Role

april is looking for a brilliant, curious and creative Senior Full-Stack Engineer with a passion for data that's ready to take on a huge opportunity to solve tax, and save people time and money. This position will be based in our NYC HQ and will require in-office presence Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. april is the only embedded, year-round tax platform built to power smarter financial decisions, offering real-time tax intelligence through white-labeled tools that handle complex tax situations with AI-powered accuracy. The platform integrates seamlessly with partner apps via API-first infrastructure, helping users understand the impact of income changes and stay on top of tax payments throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and own full-cycle (from idea to production) projects that are directly used by and impact millions of people
Work closely with the product & UX to define product requirements and execute the development plans
Design system architectures, select and evaluate tools
Build cloud-native microservices
Mentor, and grow the team, our practices, and our technology stack

Requirements

6+ years of software engineering experience building production-level web applications in large-scale products
6+ years of experience with modern full-stack frameworks React/Angular/Vue or equivalent programming language, developing high-scale applications
4+ years of experience building reactive web & mobile-web frontends using React/Next/Angular/Vue over TypeScript/JavaScript
4+ years of experience with Python as a proper microservice backend
Passion for clean code and agile work
Experience with modern cloud environments (GCP, AWS)
Strong architecture skills - ability to design for scale, and velocity, robustness, and readability of end-to-end data-driven solutions
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
