Senior Graphic Designer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Concept, design, and execute for all PetSmart in-store initiatives across multiple platforms including signs, fixtures, presentations, and printed materials.
• Carry out Visual Design Strategy through PetSmart's brand identity and guidelines to produce engaging creative work.
• Work collaboratively with team members and clients to develop creatively sound solutions.
• Be a trustworthy and reliable teammate.
• Thrive under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations to produce consistent, on-brand work.
• Proactively provide insights on new technology and design trends.
• Create and manage projects of all sizes, prioritize multiple requests, and meet or beat deadlines.
• Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with designers, creative directors, VPs, project managers, and clients.
• Present and sell your work, clearly explaining the creative rationale behind your design decisions.
• Handle post-production photography work as needed, understanding how photography integrates into design.
• Contribute to all stages of the creative process from concept to final delivery.
• Bring new and well-designed ideas to elevate the brand message.
• Ideate and execute with minimal oversight, iterating based on feedback from leadership and stakeholders.
• Maintain clear communication with peers, managers, and Creative Operations.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional design experience, preferably as a Sr Graphic Designer or Art Director.
• BS/BA in graphic design or related field (preferred but not required).
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office applications.
• Experience in print and production is a plus.
• An impressive portfolio demonstrating talent in typography, layout, photography, color, and creativity across platforms.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work fast and under pressure.
• Strategic and critical thinking with strong problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, with a positive and energetic attitude.
• Experience working with Brand Guidelines and Creative Briefs.
