About the Role

Senior Java Full Stack Developer (Onsite) at Cognizant, located in McLean, VA. The role involves developing and delivering end-to-end projects using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS, and Angular, within an agile environment. The position requires collaboration, learning new technologies, and diagnosing production issues, contributing to Cognizant's mission of transforming clients' business and technology models for the digital era.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver end-to-end projects utilizing Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Angular.
Develop functionalities using Java, J2EE, and related technologies.
Work with AWS services such as S3, SQS, SNS, ECS, Lambda, and CloudWatch in deployed applications.
Participate in agile/scrum development processes.
Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly.
Learn new technologies and perform proof of concepts (POC) on emerging tools.
Diagnose production issues and defects to ensure system stability.

Requirements

8+ years of Core Java development experience, familiar with Java 7 or higher.
Experience with Java development and awareness of Java patterns.
Proficiency in Java, Spring, and Spring Boot stack.
Experience and expertise in AWS and cloud technologies including ECS, Docker, Lambda, SNS/SQS, Kinesis, DynamoDB.
Knowledge of system design, performance engineering, scaling, and application security.
Experience with relational databases, schema design, and queries.
Experience in front-end technologies such as NodeJS, Angular, HTML, and CSS for developing rich, responsive user interfaces.

Nice to Have

Experience with Java 8 or higher.
Familiarity with AWS services like Kinesis and DynamoDB.
Knowledge of non-functional aspects like security and scalability.

Qualifications

8+ years of Core Java development experience.
Experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and AWS cloud technologies.
Knowledge of system design and relational databases.
Experience with front-end technologies like Angular, NodeJS, HTML, and CSS.
