About the Role

Cognizant's Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified Senior Java Full Stack developer with AWS experience. The role involves developing and building impactful, scalable, enterprise applications. Developers work closely with product managers, designers, and clients to deliver high-quality, reliable, and maintainable software. The team values agility, retrospection, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction. The position is based onsite in McLean, VA, and requires legal work authorization in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver end-to-end projects using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
Develop functionalities using Java, J2EE, Angular, and related technologies.
Work with AWS services such as S3, SQS, SNS, ECS, Lambda, and CloudWatch in deployed applications.
Diagnose production issues and defects to ensure system stability and performance.
Collaborate with team members in an agile/scrum environment and participate in retrospectives.
Learn new technologies and perform proof of concepts (POC) as needed.

Requirements

10+ years of Core Java development experience, familiar with Java 8 or higher.
Experience with Java development and awareness of Java patterns.
Proficiency in Spring Boot and Microservices development.
Must have AWS experience, including services like S3, SQS, SNS, ECS, Lambda, CloudWatch.
Experience with Angular and front-end technologies such as HTML and CSS.
Experience with Java, J2EE, and relational databases with schema design and queries.
Agile/scrum development experience.
Good collaboration and communication skills.
Ability to diagnose production issues and defects.

Nice to Have

Experience with NodeJS, Kinesis, DynamoDB, Docker, and system design including performance engineering and security.

Qualifications

8+ years of Core Java development experience, familiar with Java 7 or higher.
