About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all operational aspects and ensure uptime of the data center, including electrical, mechanical, fire life safety, security, and communications infrastructure.
• Provide field-level technical expertise and program management for maintenance and operation of support systems.
• Manage and supervise onsite vendor relationships, contracts, and site operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement maintenance standards, improve existing standards, and ensure proper installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Ensure site compliance with company, industry standards, and customer contracts.
• Lead and mentor staff, including evaluations, coaching, training, and ensuring proper staffing with qualified personnel.
• Analyze existing operating conditions, recommend new technologies, and improve overall efficiency and cost reduction.
• Lead root cause analysis for abnormal occurrences and participate in facility design, construction, and security planning.
• Manage site physical security and safety protocols.
• Assist in developing departmental budgets, focusing on cost-saving methods.
• Lead customer meetings to review site activities and performance.
• Collaborate with Network Operations and Engineering teams to keep systems updated and maintain best-in-class standards.
• Promote behaviors aligned with CoreSite’s culture, principles of operational excellence, and guiding principles.

Requirements

• Strong technical knowledge of telecom, cabling, electrical, and mechanical support systems, including power distribution, emergency power, UPS, HVAC, fire alarm, and suppression systems.
• Experience in managing data center operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and site support systems.
• Ability to analyze operational conditions and recommend technological improvements.
• Leadership skills with experience supervising staff and managing vendor relationships.
• Excellent management and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in developing and maintaining budgets and cost control.
• Ability to lead root cause analysis and manage emergency procedures.
• Strong communication skills for leading meetings and collaborating with teams.
