About the Role

We are hiring a Data Engineer Senior in Lockheed Martin's Data & AI Enablement organization to support Data Engineering development efforts in the Missiles & Fire Control business area (a $11B business) Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO). The role involves delivering full-stack data solutions across the entire data processing pipeline, utilizing systems engineering principles to design and implement scalable data systems that span data collection, ingestion, processing, storage, and delivery, with a focus on security, performance, and integration of diverse technologies including SAP ERP, S/4HANA, AWS, IBM CP4D, and non-ERP applications.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop full-stack data solutions that span the data lifecycle, including collection, ingestion, processing, storage, and delivery.
Build data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate unorganized data into databases or data sources ready for analysis.
Maintain data systems performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems.
Define standards, best practices, and certification processes for application development and deployment.
Gather and translate business requirements into analytical applications, ensuring high performance processing of large data volumes.
Implement security and authentication mechanisms to protect data across systems.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field; master's or Ph.D. preferred or equivalent experience.
5+ years' experience in Data Engineering development, particularly in Aerospace & Defense or large manufacturing industries, primarily in SAP environment.
Experience and knowledge in SAP and related applications with high-level business process understanding.
Hands-on development experience with SAP BODS, HANA data modeling, SQL views, Calculation views, Stored Procedures, Python, IBM CP4D, and SAP Business Objects (Webi, Crystal).
Experience with integration technologies such as Smart Data Access, SLT, and virtual data modeling like Tibco Data Virtualization.
Ability to architect, design, and develop highly scalable distributed data processing systems and Data Warehouses.

Nice to Have

Experience in Agile methodologies and hands-on Agile experience.
Knowledge of MES Systems, such as Apriso.
Experience with Aerospace & Defense business applications, processes, and data sources.

Qualifications

Educational background in computer science, information systems, or related fields; advanced degrees preferred.
Experience in Data Engineering, SAP environments, and related technologies.
