About the Role

The Senior Manager, Software Engineering at Walmart Global Tech will lead an agile team supporting Sam's Club Scan and Go, a highly successful retail technology product. The role involves motivating and inspiring a talented team of backend, mobile, and quality engineers, ensuring technical excellence, and delivering a robust and high-quality application. Key Responsibilities

Timely execution of a product and technical roadmap, with a focus on improving robustness and quality of the application.
Working closely with product design and engineering partners across multiple teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Being hands-on in the career development of reporting associates, including hiring, mentoring, providing growth opportunities, and offering performance feedback.
Living the culture of servant leadership and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area, or 7 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
2 years' supervisory experience.
Experience with an in-club/store checkout platform, particularly in nuanced retail environments like Sam's Scan and Go.
Strong team-oriented and empathetic leadership skills.
Ability to enable teams by focusing on the product from the member's perspective.

Nice to Have

Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
Background in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.

Qualifications

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 5 years' experience or 7 years' experience in software engineering.
Option 2: 2 years' supervisory experience.
